Kathleen
Martin’s operatic career encompassed most
of Europe’s major opera houses, concert halls, TV,
and radio with prominent conductors such as Barenboim, Harnoncourt,
Plasson, and Perick for over twenty years.
Since 1993
Miss Martin has been teaching voice in Laguna Niguel.
Her students have sung with L A Opera, Hollywood Bowl, Opera Pacific, Long Beach Opera, Pacific Chorale, Master Choral, Pacific Symphony, America's Most Talented Kids, and are 1st Place winners of national and local competitions such as Classcal Singer, L A Music Center Spotlight Awards, Tomorrow's Stars at the Center, VOCE, NATS, Musical Arts Club, POSA, etc. In 2011 they won over $260,000 in scholarships and prizes and in 2018 over $650,000 in scholarships and prizes.
In 2016 they swept the LA Music Center Spotlight Awards Classical Vocal Division winning all three top prizes for the first time in the history of the awards, and in 2017, 2021 again the two top prizes.
Her high school graduates go on to the voice departments of such universities/conservatories as The Julliard School, Manhattan School of Music, USC, Rice, Northwestern, Boston Conservatory, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, etc. |
